25 Printable Nisse Letters

The Gnome door is a beloved tradition in many Scandinavian homes during December. It is set up on the night of December 1st, and by morning, the Nisse has moved in. The Nisse sleeps during the day but engages in playful mischiefs and fun surprises at night.

If you can’t wait to add a Gnome door to your December fun but aren’t quite sure what to do, you’re in luck! This magical Christmas calendar is packed with 25 ready-to-go Nisse letters, each bursting with delightful activities. Each Nisse letter is sparking with joy and holiday cheer, turning each day into a festive adventure!

So who is this Nisse?

The Nisse is a charming Scandinavian elf-like character who brings Christmas magic to life! The Nisse only comes out when the house is completely quiet and everyone is asleep. No one has ever seen it, but every morning, there are tiny traces of the Nisse’s nightly adventures.

During December, the Nisse loves to surprise children with little notes and fun activities, adding a sprinkle of enchantment to the holiday season. Whether it’s hiding tiny gifts, leaving clever riddles, or setting up playful surprises, the Nisse ensures that every day leading up to Christmas is filled with excitement and joy!

The little Nisse door is also magical. If a curious child tries to peek inside the Nisse home, they’ll only find a blank wall. It’s said that only the Nisse can open the door properly with magic gnome spells. At least, that’s the story.

Target audience

These Nisse letters are designed for young children, from ages 2-3 up to 6-7. They’re perfect for families with one or more children and can also be used in daycare or preschool settings.

Activity Duration

As a former busy single working mom, I’ve made sure each of the 25 activities takes no more than 5-10 minutes each day. While the Nisse letters are a complete Advent calendar, if you have extra time, the activities can be extended infinitely, and there’s room for improvisation.

What’s Included?

The set includes 25 small Nisse letters and envelopes with numbers from 1-25. You’ll also receive a checklist with instructions to help you gather the right items for each day.

NOTE: The Gnome door is not included. Click here to search Google and find a Gnome door, Elf door og Fairy door that suits your very own house Nisse.
