Which cocoa powder is used to make a Pink Fluffy Unicorn?
Pink cocoa powder is hard to come by. If you can’t buy it where you are, you can instead use white cocoa. With a splash of red food colour, the Pink Fluffy Unicorn gets just the right shade of pink. White cocoa usually has a fine hint of vanilla, but if you think pink and strawberry are inseperable, give it a dash of strawberry flavor too!
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons white cocoa powder
- 1½ dl boiling hot water
- 5-10 drops of red food colour
- Strawberry flavor, if you like!
- 2 dl hot milk foam (or just varm milk, if you don’t have a milk frother)
- Mini marshmallows
- Whipped cream, for topping
- Unicorn coloured sprinkles, for topping
How to make a Pink Fluffy Unicorn
- Put the cocoa powder in a tall glass and add water.
- Stir well until dissolved.
- Add fruit colour (and strawberry flavor) and stir well.
- Add the warm milk foam.
- Before the topping, add a tablespoon of marshmallows to the drink.
- Garnish with whipped cream, sprinkles and an additional mountain of marshmallows.
A few tips to get the best hot chocolate
If you choose to make your hot chocolate with all milk and no water, you should consider that it will be too full in taste. As suggested, instead use half water and half milk. If you want to make a vegan hot chocolate on the creamy almond milk or other plant milk, be aware that a lot of cocoa powder contains milk protein or traces of milk.
If you want a full-bodied and sinful hot chocolate, like the one you got at the café, you need to buy a milk frother. A frother gives the milk the creamy texture in the hot drink. Do choose a milk frother that not only whips the milk, it must also be able to heat it at the same time.
